MILTON SCARECROW FESTIVAL

A host of visitors will be making thier home in and around the Milton area. But these are not the visitors you come to expect, they are figures of peoples imagination come to life (well almost anyway). These new guest are known as scarecrows and they come in all shapes and sizes but the thing they have in common (besides straw) is they will all be in milton over the june long weekend celebrating the Milton Scarecrow Festival.

Whilst the scarecrows are the heart and colour of the festivals their is still plenty for everyone to enjoy. There will be plenty of bargains available with market stalls and surrounding shops. Live music, entertainment, dancing, displays, horse drawn carriage and a historic town are the backdrop of the festival. For the kids there will be pony rides, face painting, jumping castle, a merry-go-round and some "live" scarecrows.

Sunday is the big day of the judging, the scarecrows all gather and jostle in the town posing to impress the judges. The winning scarecrows and their proud 'parents' are awarded prizes. Afterwards the scarecrows are auctioned off with the welcome proceeds going to local charities.

So on the June long weekend bring your family (and your scarecrow) to the small town with the big festival and have even bigger fun. See you there!
