When you come to Ulladulla you will notice the unmistakable silohette
of Pigeon House mounatin. Pigeon House is part of the Budawang mountains
in the Morton National Park and its beauty has attracted visitors
for many years. The mountain rises 719 meters above sea level and
has a walking track that takes you to the summit.
This is a must see attraction of the area. The views from the summit
are simply breath taking and the walk there whilst tough, offers
plenty to see. From the summit you will experience panaramic views
of the eastern seaboard and Morton nation park.
The
trip by car takes about 20 minutes from Ulladulla and travels over
some rough ground. The car park has picnic tables, toilets and barbeque
facilities. From the car park is a 5km walk return to the summit.
The walk is steep in parts and good shoes are necessities. The walk
is split into 4 stages. Stage 1 is a steep 800m , Stage 2 is a flat
1 km walk, Stage 3 is a steep 500m climb and Stage 4 is a series
of steel ladders attached to a cliff face.
